Track 11 · Lesson 8 of 12
Overriding and super()
Replace or extend inherited behaviour in a subclass, call the parent with super(), and let different classes answer the same method call.
You will be able to
- Override an inherited method to change its behaviour in a subclass
- Write a subclass __init__ that calls super().__init__() before adding its own attributes
- Extend a parent method with super().method() instead of copying its code
- Use polymorphism: call the same method on objects of different classes
