Steps for a grouped median

Not started

Put the steps for estimating a median from a grouped frequency table in order.

Put the steps in order (use the arrows)

  1. 1Compute the cumulative frequencies
  2. 2Calculate L+n/2−Ff×wL + \frac{n/2 - F}{f} \times w
  3. 3Find the median class: the first class whose cumulative frequency reaches n/2n/2
  4. 4Note LL, FF (cumulative frequency before the class), ff and the class width ww
  5. 5Add up the frequencies to get nn and compute n/2n/2
