About

We teach finance the way it's done at work

In a worksheet, with real numbers, and with feedback that explains what went wrong.

Most finance education is a lecture followed by a multiple-choice quiz. But nobody values a company by picking option C. Analysts build models: they link assumptions, write formulas, check their work and interpret the result. Finance Quest is built around that workflow.

How we teach

  • Short explanations, then practice. Each lesson explains one idea with a worked example, then you build it yourself.
  • A real formula engine. The workspace evaluates the spreadsheet functions finance professionals use — NPV, IRR, PMT, PV, FV and more — with the same conventions, so your skills transfer.
  • Feedback that teaches. Exercises are graded on our servers. We distinguish a wrong answer from a right answer reached the wrong way: typed-in numbers, assumptions that aren't linked, errors carried from an earlier cell, and common traps such as the NPV() timing mistake.
  • Accuracy first. Every calculation comes from one tested finance library shared by lessons, calculators and grading, checked against published spreadsheet examples.

Part of Formula Quest

Finance Quest is one of the Quests in Formula Quest: one Formula Quest account works across every Quest, and Finance Quest is included in Formula Quest memberships. Each Quest has its own focus; Finance Quest concentrates on finance and valuation.

What Finance Quest is not

Our content is educational. It is not investment, tax or legal advice, and our completion certificates describe what you completed on Finance Quest — they are not an accredited professional qualification.
