A tour of the standard library

Meet the modules you will use most — pathlib, json, csv, re, textwrap, string, decimal, fractions and uuid — and learn how to choose the right one.

You will be able to

• Work with file paths using pathlib instead of string manipulation
• Convert between Python data and JSON or CSV text
• Find patterns in text with re, and tidy text with textwrap and string
• Do exact money arithmetic with decimal and exact ratios with fractions, and create deterministic ids with uuid
• Choose a standard module for a task before writing the code yourself
