- Is Typing Quest free?
- Yes. Every lesson, practice mode, game and certificate is free with a Formula Quest account, and the typing test and the first lessons need no account at all.
- Do I need an account?
- No. You can take tests, try the first lessons and play games as a guest. Sign in with your Formula Quest account (it's free to create) to save your progress; lessons you passed as a guest on the same device are added to your account.
- How is WPM calculated?
- One word is five characters. Your headline speed is net WPM: characters typed ÷ 5 per minute, minus one word per minute for each uncorrected error. Full definitions are shown under every typing test.
- Can I use Typing Quest on a phone?
- Yes, for tests, practice and your progress. Touch-typing lessons work best with a physical keyboard, and results from touch keyboards are labelled and never compared with physical-keyboard results.
- Which Arabic keyboard layout do you use?
- The standard Arabic (101) layout used on Windows and available on macOS as "Arabic – PC".
- Where do I manage my account?
- Typing Quest is part of Formula Quest. Your sign-in, email, password, memberships and billing are managed in your Formula Quest account; Typing Quest's settings page has your typing preferences and your Typing Quest data.
- Are your certificates accredited?
- No. Certificates are issued by Typing Quest. Completion certificates show you finished part of a course; proficiency certificates show you passed a timed assessment verified on our servers. They are not accredited by any government or external body.
- Is my data private?
- We collect only what we need to run the service, we don't use advertising trackers, and you can download or delete your Typing Quest data at any time from Settings.
- Can teachers use Typing Quest with a class?
- Yes. A teacher creates a class, shares its code, sets assignments and sees each learner's progress. Organization access for schools and companies is arranged through Formula Quest. See the For teachers page.
