About

Accounting is a practical skill. It should be learned like one.

Most people meet accounting as definitions and diagrams. Then they start a job, open a ledger and realise they've never closed a month, reconciled a bank account or found the entry that broke a trial balance. Accounting Quest exists to close that gap.

Part of the Quest family

Accounting Quest is one of a family of practical learning products — alongside Formula Quest for Excel and Finance Quest for financial modelling — built on one idea: people learn professional skills by doing the work, with feedback that explains what went wrong.

How the content is built and checked

  • Every answer is verified by code. A double-entry accounting engine grades your work, and the same engine checks our model solutions in automated tests: every solution must score 100%, every misconception message must fire for the mistake it describes, and every case must balance, tie out and reconcile.
  • Figures are computed, not typed. Depreciation schedules, inventory costs and reconciliations in lessons come from the engine, so the text and the grader can't disagree.
  • Expert review is stated honestly. Each lesson says whether it has been independently reviewed by a qualified accountant. At launch that review is pending, and the lessons say so rather than imply otherwise.
  • Nothing is published empty. A lesson or case is published only when its exercises are written and every answer passes automated checks; anything unfinished is labelled as such and never sold as available.

What we won't claim

Accounting Quest isn't a professional qualification, isn't affiliated with any accounting body, and isn't accounting, tax or legal advice for your own situation. We don't publish testimonials we can't verify or statistics we haven't measured. All companies and people in exercises are fictional.
